Just a short note ! our winter spin classes will be starting on Thursday 22nd Oct at 8.15 at TY Fitness. Tanya will be taking the class with us getting a good winter workout and also getting the chance to meet other club members. the annual tour of the lanes which took place today was once again another huge success. around two dozen riders turned up at the swimming pool to take part in chris's usual mystery tour of the local byways,others went ahead with their usual sunday run at 9 am and met up later. it was a glorious sunny morning and the later start did'nt discourage anyone from turning out. many thanks to all of those who made the effort to support the run, hopefully it was an enjoyable ride with time to chat ...

After a few heavy showers before 7.00 pm tonight we had a bright evening with a little wind but we missed the rain as we rode the back roads. 17 cyclists turned up including a few new faces with a few regulars missing so this means we should have a large group this summer. Cyclist are getting the chance to ride in a group and as the speed capped at 15 MPH our club school girls / boys can attend

A great start to the new format Inter Club League with all three clubs being well represented. Kyle Cromie sprinted clear to win for Roe Valley just ahead of Rory Devlin north pole And Colin McKenna Foyle. With points being awarded from 1st to 15th it looked too close to call between Roe Valley and North Pole. We managed to avoid the worst of the weather and a stiff headwind from Greencastle to the Foyle bridge meant a group working together could make good headway. Kyle Cromie won at Sundays McCann Cup in Omagh against 60 other riders in a sprint finish. In a fast paced race the bunch stayed pretty much together until the end. RVCC in the results in Bann Valley Classic

Kyle & Peter Cromie were in the middle of the action at the Bann Valley Classic on Sunday. After two riders had gone clear a group of five (containing Kyle & Peter) bridged over to the leaders. The Leading group held a lead of 30 seconds and managed to hold the chasers off. Mary Boyd rode her first open race for some time and finished 5th in the ladies race in the sprint finish. The Gort Na Drum Tour takes place this year on Saturday 25th April. Two routes are available 30 Miles & 60 Miles. Entrance fee is �10 and the rides start at 10:00am. There will be a BBQ afterwards. Marie curie is the main charity with a donation also going to the David McCALL Foundation.

RVCC members please wear club clothing if available.

Kyle wins U16 Open Race

Well done to Kyle Cole who rode a very strong race to win at todays Aghagallon Cup U16 race. Kyle rode a clever attacking race to firstly split the race up and then attack late on to win alone by 20 seconds. Blaine Cole competed in his first open race and finished very well in 6th place in his age group. Well done to the both of you.

This clip is well worth a watch. Its the sprint finish of yesterdays milan san remo . Haussler jumped well clear of all the top sprinters in the world wth 200m to go. Cavendish never gave up right to the line winning by about the width of a tyre on the line.
