Omagh Wheeler’s reliability trial takes place Sunday 21th February at 10am, with sign on from 9am. As it is a reliability trial riders should note that it is their responsibility to ensure that the condition of their bicycle, and themselves, is sufficient for them to complete the distance. Reliabilities are not a race but are very much about riders completing the event under their ‘own steam’ and without external assistance.
The entrance fee is £5 and all riders are expected to hold a valid Cycling Ireland license. Helmets are compulsory.
There will be changing and shower facilities available at youth sport centre Cookstown rd.
Tea, soup and sandwiches after.
Riders should note that rules of the road must be strictly adhered to and that Stewards at junctions are only there to indicate direction and will not stop traffic. There will be a lead vehicle for each group and the pace of the groups will be controlled by experienced riders within each group.
The route is Omagh-Dromore-Cathcarts-Kesh-Ederney-Castlederg-Drumquin-Omagh,or shorter option available from Ederney -Omagh.
The distance is approximately 75 miles + 55 miles. The target speed is an average of 20mph while the target speed for the ‘B’ group is an average of 17mph.
