Our dates are confirmed, the Council are on board and we are already planning this year’s adventure – extended to include options over 2 days! Last year saw you tubing the river Laggan, towing trucks with your bare hands, climbing mighty Cave hill and finishing with our trade mark slippery wall in front of the slightly bemused public throng at City Hall. This year there is double the fun as we introduce two days of racing with options to take part on Saturday, Sunday or both! So dust off those running shoes and oil the bikes as we get set for another Rodent invasion of Belfast in 2009!
1. Entries are now open 2. New Two Day Race Format for Belfast 2009 3. Staff and Volunteers 4. Gael Force 6 5. Pssstttt! Keep an eye out for our wandering Rat
1. Entries are now open Entries are now open for this year's Belfast Rat Race with it being held on the same weekend as last year, the 8th & 9th of August. As you were our inaugural Belfast Rat Racers we are offering you our early bird prices until the end of February. Its a short month so make sure to get in early! Check out all pricing details here! If competing in just one Irish Rat Race this year isn't enough for you, why not head to Galway. Another great city for adventure! The Galway Rat Race will be held on the 5th & 6th of September. Check out the scoop here!
2. New Two Day Race Format for Belfast 2009 With the great success of our inaugural Belfast Race last year, this year will see double the helping of Rat action. Belfast 2008 was all over in one day, but in 2009 we are bringing you the full weekend Rat Race experience with our two day racing format as seen in Bristol, Edinburgh, London and Melbourne. So now you get to choose from the “Mean Streets,” a team running event lasting up to 3 hours on Saturday evening, or the “9 to 5” biking based adventure on Sunday, complete with boats, ropes and a whole lot more! Or do both to complete the full Rat Race Weekender. Check out all the details on these formats here.
3. Staff & Volunteers Are you keen to get involved in adventure racing but not sure if it’s for you? Are you supporting friends or relatives who have entered? Are you looking for work experience in the events or adventure sectors? Or do you just want to spend some time in a beautiful place with some great people behind the scenes at a cool event? As Detail Events are firmly setting roots in Ireland, we are looking to pull together a database of casual and part-time staff in NI who would be interested in working on a number of fun, interesting and very different events, throughout NI and further a-field. Check out the full details here and fill in our form with all your details here.
4. Gael Force 6 Gael Force 6 is back again, and we believe that it has now become the largest one day multi sport event in Europe! So if you fancy a great weekend in the wild West of Ireland, why not check it out. It’s an amazing part of the country, a superb race and there is a great after party in Westport afterwards. As it’s the Rat Pack behind this one too, Gael Force is offering all you Rat Racers a special discounted rate of €75 entry fee, saving €10 per head. To avail of this great discount enter RATRACE102 when asked for the promo code on the entry form. Check out all Gael Force details here!
5. Pssstttt! Keep an eye out for our wandering Rat We love Belfast so much that our Rat Race Mascot looks set to pay a "running" visit over the May bank holiday. Keep an eye out as he may just turn up at the Belfast City Marathon! Why not join him in one of these great races; check out details here!
Rat’s all for now – log onto www.ratraceadventure.com for the full Ratified info on this year’s event. We hope to see you line up with 100s of others at City Hall in August!
